Privacy Policy — Swain

Last updated: 2026-10-05

Summary

Swain is a personal browser extension. It does not collect, store, transmit, or share any user data. Everything it does happens locally on this device.

What it does

What it does not do

Recordings

Recorded files are written straight to the local Downloads folder using the browser's downloads API. The extension does not keep a copy, does not read the file back afterward, and has no way to access it once saved.

Third parties

This extension does not integrate with, or share data with, any third-party service.

A note on call-recording laws

Recording a call may require the other participant's knowledge or consent depending on jurisdiction — some places require only the recording party's consent, others require everyone on the call to agree. This is a legal question about how the extension is used, not something the extension itself can determine or enforce.
